ITC Title I

On Monday, April 21, at 5:00 PM, we will have our Annual Title I Planning Meeting on Zoom. This is the time of year where we reflect on how we spent our Title I funds for 2024-2025 and which school goals we met this year in order to plan for the future. Participants will learn more about how we determine where to focus our time and money and offer feedback as we prepare for a new school year. Saturday School Schedule

On March 24, 2025 we offered a Title I Family Workshop for families to learn about FREE summer school classes for your ITC student! In April, the counselors and social workers are coming to each ITC campus to register students for summer school.

If you missed this meeting, you can click HERE to view a recording to learn about the purpose of summer school, the transportation plan, and how to sign up your student.

The Office of Family Engagement in the Department of Federal Programs invites all families to join the Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS) Family Night on March 18, 2025, from 5:30 PM until 6:30 PM via Zoom.

During this session, GCPS families of students in grades K - 12 will receive information about the definitions of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL), SEL Components within the PBIS framework, and how families can help connect with schools and use PBIS/SEL strategies at home.

What? Virtual learning session on Zoom with an ITC teacher to practice reading, speaking, and listening in
English. Students will practice social language and academic language. Students receive free copies of the
books and learning materials the teacher uses after attending the session in order to continue studying
English at home.

Where? Online from 9AM-11AM. Students log in using their GCPS Chromebooks.
Students are expected to have camera and microphone on ready to learn by 9AM.

Title I Digital Family Workshop About Attendance

On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 5:00 PM, we will have a digital Family Workshop to discuss the most common things that affect school attendance for our ITC students. Our school counselors and social workers are providing important information about immunizations, residency documentation, and physical and mental well-being, because these often impact student absences and graduation success.

We will be hosting an ITC Family Workshop called Supporting Multi-Language Learners at School and Home. We will discuss the ways GCPS supports your student as part of the ESOL program at the ITC and in the traditional high school setting. We will also discuss additional ways your student can continue learning from home after school, on weekends, and during school holidays.

If you are attending the session at ITC@ Berkmark High School, please park in the front of the building or in front of the theater. When you arrive at the front desk, ask for help getting to the ITC Parent Center, Trailer #13. For questions. please email Patricia.Escobar@GCPSK12.org

Community-Based Mentoring and Community Schools Night

During this session, GCPS families will learn how you can engage with GCPS as a mentor with the Community-Based Mentoring Program that pairs caring adults with students in grades 4 through 12 to provide guidance, encouragement, and support to help our students become successful young adults. Families will also learn about The Office of Community Schools and the process for community organizations to partner in providing wraparound extension educational and recreational programs and services for our students to be successful.
